Introduction

The gipsy moth was is a biplane which was invented in the 1930’s. The inventor created the plane after world war 2.

All about the Gipsy moth plane

The gipsy moth was invented by Geoffrey De Havilland. When the plane was finally built he done a test drive to see if there were any mistakes or left out parts.

Features

There are 2 big wheels in front and 1 small wheel in back  so when landing they could land more softly. The struts are used to hold the up wing and bottom wing together.  

Conclusion

The gipsy moth plane came to the USA in 1868. Étienne Léopold Trouvelot bring the plane to the USA in 1868.

Conclusion on aviators

My Aviator I really inspire is Jean Batten she broke the best record someone has done. She flew Australia to England, England to Argentina. Then she flew to London and back to Auckland. Jean batten is a female plane flyer. She flew the Gipsy moth plane. She was born in Auckland Rotorua. September 15, 1909, Rotorua.

This is my Conclusion on my favourite Aviator. The Aviator I have chosen was Jean Batten. I chose her because she beat the record for flying across the pacific ocean

This is my spreadsheet of objects I have measured. I worked with Taani to complete this task. First we had to measure our dumb's so we could use a ruler called the thumb ruler we didn't just use a thumb ruler we also used a normal ruler to. We needed to measure 10 objects in out classroom.

How does a plane fly

How does a plane fly?

Planes fly by using their wings. The 4 forces of flight are weight, drag, lift and thrust those are the 4 forces of flight. Planes travel 600 mph per hour. Lots of jets are much more faster because they use more fuel to get to places. Planes need fuel to move forward. If planes do not have fuel it wouldn’t fly. Planes and helicopters are not the same, Helicopters use propellers to fly and planes use fuel to fly. The four forces are drag,thrust,weight and lift.Lift is a mechanical force generated by a solid object moving through a fluid.

Drag is the aerodynamic force that opposes an aircraft's motion through the air. Drag is generated by every part of the airplane even the engines!.

Weight is one of the four forces that make a plane come down.It uses the gravity and its weight.

Thrust is the force which moves an aircraft through the air. Thrust is used to overcome the drag of an airplane, and to overcome the weight of a rocket.

One of the events were the twin towers.People had to jump from the tower to save their life or fall 1,362 feet! The next event was the tenerife disaster which was the worst disaster in history.

Today we had to write a information report about how does a plane fly. This is my information of how a plane fly's.

Balloon Experiment

This is my rocket experiment graph. For Mr O's inquiry group we used balloons to see how far the balloon would go on a fishing line and a straw. Mr O blew up the balloon and hooked it onto the line. 

Weather in Auckland

LI: To accurately interpret data. For our maths task today we were learning about the weather. We tried to figure out what would happen in July. The answer we got were 8, 14, 18. I worked with fraidon to figure this out.

Today we had to write questions about the text called how do aeroplanes fly. Some of my questions are from my previous work I have worked on. This was a Individual work. Example: Who made the first aeroplane.

LI: To Infer Information about characters in a text. This week we had to read a text called Tuatai. It is about a Samoan boy going to he's grandma's sixties birthday in Samoa. The People I have worked with are Jericho and Mataio. For our learning we had to use emoji instead of pictures to complete this work. 

Animal Migration ( Bald Eagle )

This week we have been learning about migration animals the animal we have chosen is the bald eagle. The people I have worked with were Josh S, Taani and me. In this presentation we have put what type of eagles they are and were some eagles come from. Bald Eagle lay their eggs on top of cliffs.

Strategy Maths

LI: To choose the best strategy to solve the problem. This week I have been working on maths problems. The first maths problem was about 2 boys going fishing and they caught 4 fish. How many fish did they have each. This one was really easy for me. For the second one it was really hard because when I was working on the second problem I didn't know we had to use subtraction and addition. 

Migration

This week for inquiry we have been learning about flight ( Migration ). I have worked with Alex, Josh, and Aung Naing. Me and Alex worked on the pull factor while Josh and Aung Naing work on Push factor.

Inference

For my group we have been learning about inferences. We had a work sheet to work out these pragrahps and answer them in the text box. These are the question that I got.

Paragraph (1):  Regan's heart began to race. He could feel it pounding in his chest . His mouth was dry and his breathing shallow. How was he even going to speak he wondered. All Regan could see was a blur of faces. His mother would be sitting there still as a statue. No doubt she would have to pushed her way to a seat somwhere in the front row. ' and now we have regan sharp' announced the teacher.

The answer I got was ' Ragen is in the speech competition and he is scars and shy" that was my answer. What I found hard was to figure what the kind of answer it could be.

TEE, Title Events and Ending

LI: To write narrative paragraph using Topic sentences, Details Concluding sentence. For my group we have been learning about TEE, TEE stands for Title, Events Ending. We had to edit to narratives 1 is our ow and the 2nd one is a exemplar. We used TEE to edit these narratives

Run, Jump, trow

Today we had run, jump, Throw with Andy our coach, Today was so amazing because we had to do real lays and I love real lays. We all had to be in a group of 7. The people i was with was Jona, Koloa, Sharon, Freeman and fraidon.

The Haunted House

Tai heard a sound “SSSSSSSSSS” It was a snake  serpent approaching Tai. Tai screamed and ran to an open the old door and started to panic. His Heart Beated rapidly and he felt like fainting. Then something ran up to Tai and scratched tai from the back with a huge cut Tai was screaming “HELP! HELP!” there is something after me then Joshua ,sanujan and liam came racing down the stairs looking for tai, The shouted out “WHERE ARE YOU” tai replied instantly i'm in the room Joshua,sanujan and liam replied what room,there are thousand’s liam had a great idea to spl it up and go into different rooms to find tai. Finally we found him he was badly injured he quickly ran out of the  house and they ran to the car and liam jumped across the car liam opened the door and slammed it with all his pressure he stood on the pedal drove as fast as he can down the road.  

This week my group has been learning about narrative's. The Narrative I have chosen is about me and my friends in a hunted house.

All 3 Methods

LI: To Investigate the 3 Multiplication Methods
This Week my group has been learning about all 3 methods. The Methods are called Japanese Method, Korean Method and Algorithm Method. The Hardest method for me was the Japanese method because we had to draw lines and use our scribble tool to put the lines in circles. 

How to make poi

LI: To write a procedural text. This week my group has been learning about how to make poi.
The First thing we had to do is to plan our steps and materials on a google docs and when we have done that we had to do write our draft onto my Google Presentation.

The Robbers Mask

LI To Find the main idea most important in a text. This week my group has been reading a text called the robbers mask. This procedural text tell about a dog called Cassie and to people called William and Megan. Cassie the dogs always brings things home such as lots and lots of Socks, But one day Cassie brought home a robbers mask and they tried to figure out who the mask belonged to. The people who I worked with was Jericho, Sanujan and Fraidon.

This week Mr Oglives group had to choose a sport that their really good at and hod to write a program about it. The Thing I found hard was to think of a sport I was Really good at and write a program a about it.

Korean Method

LI: To Investigate the Korean Method of multiplication. This week my group has been learning about the Korean Method. When we have finished our Korean Method we have to teach other people and when we have finished teaching them they have to teach us the Japanese method. I found hard working this out because I have never done a Korean Method before

Word Webs

LI: To find the most important (main) idea in a text. LI: To find related words. Today for our Reading session first we had to Scan for words we were unsure of through a text called The Robber's Mask and played a game (called finding new words) where each team had six different Ice block sticks and if the other team had the same color sticks that team won.
